This sketch was inspired by the famous poet and author, Langston Hughes. My drawing style was inspired by Charles Wilbert White's overall work and Elizabeth Catlett's work titled 'The Black Woman Speaks'
I like your idea and here's just a suggestion, you should add more elements of Langston's time to really amplify the piece. Can't wait to see it when it's done!
This piece manipulated several photos that were put together into one photo. A cat, a toy car, a figure, a potted plant, and the background image. I put the cat inside the car and the figure right next to it. Then I placed the plant on top of the windowsill. This assignment delt with a lot of cutting and placeing the images, but in the end was an easy task.
This piece was inspired by another similar work that I had previously seen. In this artwork, I depicted different parts of Conyers and the surrounding community. I included the Synagogue, Olde Town buildings. The Dinky Train. Cherry Blossoms from Conyers' annual Cherry Blossom Festival, and red arch near the library and Lily pads from the Botanical Garden. I used acrylic paint for this piece with a watercolor background.
I love the concept of your art. Can't wait for the finished piece!<3
